FREE EVENT: Want to hear an inspirational message and support grieving families in need?

We’re excited to announce that Alex Sheen, the founder of because I said I would, will be speaking in Independence, OH on Friday, July 25th, 2025. Alex is a five-time TEDxTalk speaker, author, and internationally recognized nonprofit leader. He will be giving an inspirational speech at this private event, and a meet-and-greet table will take place afterward where merchandise table fundraiser for the charity: every $1,500 is the equivalent of sponsoring a grieving family for a resiliency and mental health retreat at our 92-acre camp!

LOCATION: Independence, OH. The exact address will once the venue is confirmed

Two ways to attend this Private Event: 

Option #1).  Volunteer + Attend the Speech
Join us as a volunteer and help make a real impact! Your role is simple— help set up a merchandise and meet & greet table, and then accept donations using a simple credit card machine! Each volunteer helps us raise about $500.  As a volunteer, you’ll get to attend the speech, receive a free because I said I would T-shirt, and have any parking fees reimbursed. Below is the volunteer schedule for this specific event:

• 11:30 am – 11:45 am – Arrive at Venue
• 11:45 am- 12:15 pm – Bring all boxes to Meet & Greet Table
• 12:15 pm – 12:45 pm- Set up Meet & Greet Table
• 12:45 pm – 1:45 pm – Attend Alex’s Speech
• 1:45 pm – 2:15 pm – Work Merchandise Table
• 2:15 pm – 2:45 pm – Pack Up Merchandise Table
• 2:45 pm – 3:00 pm – Return boxes for shipment from UPS
• 3:00 pm – Depart the Venue

Option #2). Attend Just the Speech as a Guest (No volunteering)
Short on time but still want to hear Alex’s inspiring message? Choose a guest ticket to attend the speech without any volunteer responsibilities. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in:

• 12:30 PM- 12:45 PM Arrive At Venue And Park
• 12:45 PM- 1:45 PM Attend Alex Sheen’s Speech
• 1:45 PM- 2:15 PM Attend Meet & Greet (optional) Depart Venue

Please Note:

• Both options are open to individuals 18 years and older.
• Spots are VERY limited.  We apologize in advance if tickets run out.
• There is no cost for either ticket.
