Volunteerism Committee: How We Help
Our Volunteerism Committee plays a vital role in keeping our camp operations strong, building community partnerships, and lowering costs so we can sponsor more grieving families and deliver resiliency and mental health programs in local schools and prisons. If you love bringing people together, connecting with local organizations, and organizing meaningful projects, we would love to have you on the team.
Key Responsibilities & Goals:
- Organize Volunteer Groups: Our goal is to bring in 26 volunteer groups per year (including local churches, college clubs, businesses, and community organizations) to sustain camp facilities and operations.
- Secure Supplies & Funding: Connect with groups that can donate or fund equipment and supplies (e.g., funding 50 gallons of stain to refresh camp buildings), directly offsetting operational costs.
- Multiply Our Reach: Every dollar saved through volunteer power goes directly into sponsoring grieving families and expanding our mental health and resiliency skills programs in schools and prisons.
- Support Volunteer Staff: Help us source and support our 5 to 10 open Volunteer Staff positions (3–5 hours/week roles focused on specific operational needs). View these roles at

Commitment & Expectations
We respect your time and strive to keep committee work focused, productive, and highly impactful.
- Team Size: We are building a dedicated team of 6 to 10 committee members.
- Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours per month (1 hour for our monthly meeting + ~4 hours of independent or team project work).
- Leadership Support: Work directly alongside two of our Board Members and our Camp Executive.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about non-profit work, leadership, and community engagement. You’ll be a great fit if you have interest or experience in:
- Corporate networking and business outreach
- Event planning and project logistics
- Local community relations and partnership building
- Volunteer recruitment, training, or management

- Onboarding Meeting: Attend a 1-hour orientation meeting to review our goals, camp needs, and planning processes.
- Background Check: Complete a standard background check to ensure a safe environment for all of our programs and participants.
