Saturday, September 5, 2026, marks the 14th anniversary of because I said I would. We’re honoring this milestone through a Volunteer Day at Camp because I said I would from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM—by showing up, keeping promises, and serving others.

Fourteen years after the charity began, this is a meaningful opportunity to put our mission into action. Your work will help prepare the camp to welcome grieving families and others navigating adversity who come here for connection, rest, and support.

What to Expect

Projects may include clearing trails, staining benches, cleaning around the pond, sorting supplies, and other indoor or outdoor camp work. Plans may adjust based on the weather and the camp’s most pressing needs. Every task completed helps make the camp more ready for the people we serve.

Who Should Come?

Individuals and groups who are ready to help are welcome to register. Bring friends or family, or come on your own—you’ll work alongside people who care about the camp and its mission.

Why This Day Matters

This anniversary gives us a chance to celebrate 14 years of because I said I would through service. A cleared trail, restored bench, clean pond area, or organized supply space strengthens the place where grieving families and exhausted helpers can find connection, rest, and support.
