Summer at the Lake with Because I Said I Would
A Weekend with the Founder
Summer at the Lake with because I said I would is a weekend open to the friends of because I said I would, such as supporters, dedicated donors, and volunteers, who have helped the mission grow. Hosted at Lakeside Chautauqua in Marblehead, Ohio, this relaxed gathering offers a chance to spend meaningful time with others who believe in promises, accountability, and service.
The weekend is limited to 20 families. Children of all ages welcome! Guests will enjoy exploring Lakeside, participating in a volunteer project, sharing lunch, and hearing reflections from founder Alex Sheen. The experience is intentionally relaxed to allow families to enjoy Lakeside’s amenities while connecting with the community.
While the cost is minimal, the heart of the experience is supporting the because I said I would mission. Guests will learn more about the work and are welcome to help further the mission.
Side Note:
Before and after this weekend, Alex will be leading a youth camp at Lakeside focused on resiliency skills and mental health habits. Lakeside Chautauqua generously provided this weekend gathering opportunity in appreciation for Alex’s time working with young people in their programs.
