Fundraising Coordinator
Role Overview
As a Fundraising Coordinator Volunteer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and coordinating fundraising activities for humanitarian non-profit Because I Said I Would. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with event management, donor relations, and improve professional communication skills and relationship development. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for making the world a better place.
The volunteer may attend weekly staff meetings, regularly scheduled meetings with their supervisor, and bi-weekly meetings with other interns for professional development.
Responsibilities
Possible role responsibilities include one or more of the following areas:
Outreach and Event Coordination for Small Donor Lunches and Dinner with Founder:
- Proactively identify and contact individuals and groups showing interest
- Invite prospects for insightful tours of our 92-acre camp
- Arrange small lunches and dinners with Alex for one-on-one discussions
- Attract more individuals and companies to visit our camp, fostering relationships
- Plan and execute donor appreciation events such as luncheons and dinners
- Ensure each event is a memorable experience fostering goodwill and continued support
Facebook Fundraiser Program Management:
- Analyze potential recruitment needs
- Implement recruitment means for new fundraisers and potential donors
Donor Management System Data Entry and Coordination:
- Set up phone calls
- Network with high-level donors
Assist with fundraising activities and ideas designed by our dedicated volunteers
Donor Stewardship:
- Maintain ongoing communication with current and prospective donors
- Express gratitude and share updates on how contributions make a difference in the lives of bereaved families
- Make thank you calls and follow up with donors
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for resiliency skills, personal development, mental health and social impact.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Prior experience in event coordination or related fields is a plus.
