As a Finance Intern, you will support the financial operations of the humanitarian nonprofit Because I Said I Would, gaining hands‑on experience in nonprofit accounting and financial management. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and enhance your financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills while contributing to an organization dedicated to improving humanity through its promises kept. Ideal candidates are detail‑oriented, analytical, and passionate about social impact.

Possible responsibilities include one or more of the following areas:

• Record and categorize financial transactions; assist in maintaining accurate donation and expense records.
• Help prepare monthly reports, reconcile accounts, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Support the finance team with grant and donation tracking, including maintaining data in the donor management system.
• Assist with processing invoices, expense reimbursements, and reconciliations using spreadsheets or accounting software.
• Conduct financial research and analysis to help inform strategic decisions and ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Collaborate with fundraising and program teams to ensure proper allocation of funds.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and bi‑weekly intern gatherings for professional development

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent numeracy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
• High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential financial information.
