Join the Camp Construction Advisory Council — a unique opportunity for skilled tradespeople such as plumbers, roofers, electricians, carpenters, and other construction professionals to make a direct and lasting impact on our mission. Your expertise will help shape the future of Camp because I said I would’s facilities, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and welcoming for grieving families and other guests.
As a council member, you’ll collaborate with fellow construction experts, offering input on maintenance priorities, project planning, and sustainability initiatives. This is a great way to give back while using your professional skills in a meaningful, hands-on way.
Responsibilities

Attend a 1-hour monthly video call to review camp facility needs, ongoing projects, and upcoming plans

Volunteer on-site for approximately 4 hours each quarter to provide expertise, guidance, or light hands-on assistance

Advise on safety, functionality, and sustainability improvements for camp infrastructure

Share recommendations for materials, vendors, or best practices in construction and maintenance

Collaborate with other council members and staff to address urgent facility issues as they arise
Qualifications

Professional experience in a construction-related trade (e.g., plumbing, roofing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, general contracting)

Willingness to share expertise in a collaborative, team-oriented setting

Interest in supporting the mission of Camp because I said I would

Ability to commit to monthly virtual meetings and quarterly in-person volunteer hours
