Kids Need Us Now

+50% Increase

There has been a more than 50% rise in emergency room visits or suicide attempts among girls aged 12-17.

1 in 11 kids

Before reaching the age of 18, one out of every eleven children will suffer the loss of a sibling or parent. Compared to non-bereaved youngsters, those who have experienced such loss face significantly higher incidences of PTSD, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

1 in 9 girls

Before the age of 18, approximately one out of every nine girls will encounter sexual abuse or assault. Those who have been subjected to sexual abuse or assault are four times more likely to display indications of substance abuse.

The last 2 years of hardship has had a severe impact on the mental health and social-emotional skills of students and families. Many have grown disheartened and cynical, but we refuse to give up. In fact, we’d rather double down. Our work is needed now more than ever.

Camp because I said I would will be a place where determination begins. Where tragedy turns to hope and hope becomes a plan. There’s no more time for waiting. History is calling on us to act right now.

Donate to Make Our Vision a Reality

In order to meet our goals, we will be investing in new infrastructure, including youth cabins, an aquatic center, multi-sport courts, an outdoor amphitheatre, a mountain bike pump track, a family activity center, and more!

Youth Cabins

The existing structures at the summer camp are designed for families and corporate retreats, which are equipped with facilities and amenities that are not suitable for hosting children. This is why we need 7 Youth Cabins, specifically designed to cater to the needs of children attending summer camp. These cabins will provide a comfortable and safe environment for the children to stay in, while also allowing them to engage in various activities and programs designed to enhance their skills and experiences. With separate cabins for the children, we can ensure that they have a summer camp experience that is tailored to their specific needs, making it a more enjoyable and memorable one for them.

    Aquatic Center

To supplement our 1.5-acre lake, we will be building an aquatic center for campers and guests. This plan calls for two pools with different purposes. Having multiple pools can allow for different types of activities and programs, such as swim lessons, water aerobics, and recreational swimming. The different pools can be designed to cater to the specific needs of children of different ages, providing an environment that is safe and enjoyable for each age group.

    Multi-Sport Courts

Raising funds for two multi-sport courts is crucial for our summer camp as it will provide children with a safe and versatile environment to engage in physical activities. The new facilities will allow children to participate in a variety of sports and games, such as basketball, tennis, and volleyball, providing them with a diverse range of athletic experiences. These courts will also help to develop children's coordination, teamwork, and physical fitness, making them well-rounded athletes. Moreover, multi-sport courts are a great way for children to socialize and make new friends, as they will be able to participate in games and activities with other campers.

    Outdoor Amphitheater

An outdoor amphitheater provides a versatile space for a variety of activities and events. An outdoor amphitheater can be used for everything from large group gatherings, speeches and presentations, to movie nights and campfires. The amphitheater allows campers to come together in a communal setting, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The outdoor setting also provides children with an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding environment while participating in activities. Additionally, an amphitheater allows for an increased capacity of attendees, making it possible to host larger events and programs that would not be possible in smaller indoor spaces. In short, an outdoor amphitheater is an essential component for a well-rounded summer camp experience, providing children with a versatile and memorable environment for a variety of activities.
