Maintenance Associate
Role Overview
The Maintenance Associate supports the care, upkeep, and safety of our camp property and buildings. You’ll work under the direction of the Associate Camp Director and collaborate with other staff and volunteers. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being outdoors, and helping maintain a property used for retreats, programs, and guest stays.
Responsibilities
- Mow, trim, weed, and maintain turf and trails across ~11 acres and 1+ mile of paths
- Assist with general maintenance in cabins and the event hall (e.g. replace bulbs, tighten fixtures, minor repairs)
- Assist indoor tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, trash removal, and restocking supplies
- Prepare and maintain outdoor areas (firewood, porches, walkways)
- Assist in event setup or cleanup and routine facility inspections
- Report safety hazards or repair needs to the Associate Camp Director
- Maintain equipment, tools, and keep them in safe working order
- Help with seasonal tasks (snow removal, leaf cleanup, etc.)
Qualifications
- Some experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or related physical work preferred
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools, lawn and garden equipment
- Capable of working independently, but also communicating and collaborating
- Physical stamina: able to lift 50+ lbs, walk/stand for long periods, work outdoors in varied weather
- Valid driver’s license is required
