FREE EVENT: Want to hear an inspirational message and support grieving families in need?
We’re excited to announce that Alex Sheen, the founder of because I said I would, will be speaking in Garden Grove, CA February 27th, 2026. Alex is a five-time TEDxTalk speaker, author, and internationally-recognized nonprofit leader. He will be giving an inspirational speech at this private event and a meet-and-greet table will take place afterward where merchandise table fundraiser for the charity: every $1,500 is the equivalent of sponsoring a grieving family for a resiliency and mental health retreat at our 92-acre camp!
LOCATION: Beaumont, CA The exact address will only be given to confirmed attendees
Two ways to attend this Private Event:
Option #1). Volunteer + Attend the Speech
Join us as a volunteer and help make a real impact! Your role is simple— help set up a merchandise and meet & greet table and then accept donations using a simple credit card machine! Each volunteer helps us raise about $500. As a volunteer, you’ll get to attend the speech, receive a free because I said I would T-shirt, and have any parking fees reimbursed. Below is the volunteer schedule for this specific event:

8:00 AM – 8:15 AM – Arrive at Venue this is PST
8:15 AM – 8:30 AM – Locate the boxes
8:30 AM – 9:00 AM – Set up Meet & Greet Table
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Attend Alex’s Speech
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Work Merchandise Table (Meet & Greet)
10:30 AM – 11:00 AM – Pack Up Merchandise Table
11:00 AM – 11:15 AM – Return boxes to UPS
11:15 AM – Depart the Venue Venue:
Parking: Any parking fees will be reimbursed by check if the receipt is emailed to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) for payment Meet and Greet Table Location: Grand Coastal Ballroom Speech Location: Grand Coastal Ballroom Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your start time, so that you have time to park and get to the speech location before the setup start time. Please check in with security upon arrival. When you arrive on site, please proceed directly to the Main Ball Room. The contact for the day will be Jeff Van Wagenen Alex will have the Clovers for credit card transactions. Please ask him for them. The cash bag is in the front of the accordion folder.Please begin setting up the Meet & Greet table upon arrival.Don’t forget to: Grab a BISIW T-shirt and put it on (it’s yours to keep!), so you can be identified as a volunteer! Sign a Volunteer Waiver, found in the accordion folder. This is required by the event host. Follow the instructions on the Volunteer Instructions poster inside the supply case. Please make sure you have all boxes. Do not throw away the boxes; you may need to use them to pack up any unsold items and the supply case/banners. For the table: ● [1] Supply Case – this contains all of the supplies you will need to set up the table. Open this first and remove the volunteer instructions from the top. This will be your checklist and guide for further setup. ● [1] Long brown box: Includes 3 photo backdrops ● [1] box(es) containing books ● [1] box(es) containing T-shirts ● [1] box(es) with Promise Cards [1] box with Tip Tap Thank you
Option #2). Attend Just the Speech as a Guest (No volunteering)
Short on time but still want to hear Alex’s inspiring message? Choose a guest ticket to attend the speech without any volunteer responsibilities. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in:
8:30 AM – 9:00 AM – Arrive at Venue
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Attend Alex’s Speech
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Optional Meet & Greet

- Both options are open to individuals 18 years and older.
- Spots are VERY limited. We apologize in advance if tickets run out.
- There is no cost for either ticket.
