In-Kind Donation Coordinator
Role Overview
As a Volunteer In-Kind Donation Coordinator, you’ll help bring life to our mission by sourcing items and services essential to launching new programs at our 92-acre retreat center in Walhonding, OH. Our organization, because I said I would, is opening a new Grand Hall that will support grieving families and burnt-out caregivers—and we need your help to fill it.
You’ll identify, contact, and follow up with local businesses to secure tax-deductible in-kind donations such as: Commercial kitchen appliances, first aid kits, AEDs, hand sanitizers, wet floor signs, lawn tools, cleaning supplies, golf carts, canoes, tractors, slatwall hardware, office supplies, and more.
This is a high-impact, short-term opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys persuasive outreach, logistical problem-solving, and working independently to make meaningful change.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with staff to maintain and refine a specific donation needs list
- Identify potential in-kind donors and initiate contact (calls, emails, in-person when possible)
- Craft customized pitches and use provided scripts
- Track donations, item details, and donor info in a shared system
- Coordinate transportation or pickup logistics (travel costs reimbursed)
- Participate in weekly team check-ins and bi-weekly intern development sessions (if applicable)
- Follow up with donors through thank-you calls, updates, or camp tours

- Bonus: Located near Columbus, OH to support in-person donation visits (not required)
